Introduction

“I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

This site is dedicated to support those with congenital limb differences.  Our son was born with a congenital below-the-elbow limb defect.  That is how the name for this site (belowelbow.com) originated.  Because we are Christians, we want to use this forum to glorify God for the differences he creates in all of us.  We welcome people from all walks of life and different faiths to enjoy visiting and sharing their stories!

About the Founders

Hello.  We are the proud parents of two precious children, Keenan & Carmen.  When Keenan was born without his left forearm and hand, it was a surprise because this had not been detected during ultrasounds.  In the weeks and months ahead, the quest for information and desire for contact with other families lead us to search the Internet.  Ongoing communication with people in similar situations through e-mail has been a huge help…..emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.  We found ourselves wishing for a website where all of our newfound friends could gather, meet one another, and share stories, insights, ideas, and resources.  That is what lead us to the development of this site.  It is hoped that people and families from all over the world will feel welcome to “come on in” and join in on the discussions.
